"CrimOPS"

Motivation

"CrimOPS" or "Criminology Offender Profiling Simulation" was developed over the course of six months in collaboration with the Criminology course at the University of Westminster. This was paid work and the deliverable was used as part of the criminology undergraduate degree in order to grade students on their investigative skills.

Project Summary

CrimOPS is a crime scene investigation simulation tool that allows the user to investigate a fictional case, without the need to leave their computer. The core idea behind CrimOPS is to encourage the user to use their investigative skills to collect evidence, complete objectives, and ultimately solve the case. The player can visit the crime scene, take notes with the integrated notepad, capture screenshots using the camera system, and interview key witnesses to name a few mechanics.

As the sole developer of the project, I had the responsibility of delivering each and every aspect of the project, with guidance from academics both in the game development and criminology fields. The development cycle of CrimOPS gave massive insight into the importance of each role within a game development team and the significance of strict time management.

Due to the project being part of the Criminology undergraduate degree at the University of Westminster, the game is only available to Criminology students.
