RACCOON REMEDIES

Motivation

Raccoon Remedies began as a collaborative project with Lunch Ghost Studios, with the goal of developing a polished mobile puzzle game using scalable, modular systems. Beyond creating an engaging gameplay experience, the project serves as a technical sandbox to explore performance-conscious mobile development, data-driven design, and custom tooling within Unity. It also provides an opportunity to refine team workflows, analytics integration, and live content delivery using Firebase. The ambition was to bring Raccoon Remedies to a wide audience while also using it as a case study in sustainable indie development practices.  Raccoon Remedies launched on the App Store and Google Play Store on July 11th 2025.

Learning Outcomes

Throughout development, Raccoon Remedies presented several technical and design challenges that led to meaningful growth. Integrating Firebase for remote level syncing required careful version control and fallback handling, which deepened my understanding of asynchronous data flows and mobile caching strategies. Building custom Unity Editor tools has taught me how to streamline content creation and enforce consistency across level design. Each obstacle has helped refine my workflow and strengthen my ability to develop scalable, maintainable mobile game systems.

Project Summary

Raccoon Remedies is a cosy, mobile puzzle game where players help an overworked and unlikely raccoon hero organize colorful concoctions to treat quirky forest patients. The core gameplay revolves around sorting layered liquids into matching vials, with increasing complexity and playful modifiers like frozen vials and hidden layers.

 

Originally developed as a collaborative project with Lunch Ghost Studios, the game blends thoughtful design with a modular Unity architecture, built to support long-term scalability and remote content updates. While the game maintains a lighthearted tone, the project has also served as a proving ground for technical experimentation—particularly in level pipeline optimization, UI polish, and Firebase integration.

 

As development continues, we plan to expand on customizations, introduce new biomes, and refine gameplay systems to keep the experience engaging and replayable.
